IPL 2021 Player Replacements

The IPL 2021 is set to commence on the 19th of September in UAE. Over the past 2 weeks, we have covered articles about the IPL 2021 schedule and the different teams that are playing. Before the world was hit by the pandemic, things were going pretty smoothly for the much loved Indian cricket teams. However, later on members of some of the teams tested positive for the virus which caused a lot of delays and disappointments among cricket fans. After 25 days of contemplation and endless speculations, the board finally zeroed in on UAE as the destination to host the 31 unfinished fixtures, including the playoffs. This is the most number of player replacements the IPL has seen in the longest time.

Despite all of BCCI’s hurdles being cleared gradually, a host of players have opted out of the second leg due to a variety of reasons, forcing the IPL teams to rope in their replacements.
